Situated on the 63rd floor of one of the most renowned landmarks of the capital Hanoi, Lotte Center Hanoi, Grill 63 Restaurant is among the city’s most famous grill restaurants, offering from both Vietnamese and international grill food with panoramic views from an unparallel skyline.
The Grill 63 is actually a part of the Lotte Hotel, the hotel our friends stayed, so we went straight to it after exploring the French Quarter and Hoan Kiem Lake. The landmark has an elegant setting and is filled with floor to ceiling windows, proposing mesmerizing views overlooking Ba Dinh and Tay Ho District.
Upon on our arrival, we were welcomed by a very friendly staff who then led us to a really nice table by the window, hence the stunning view. The restaurant presented itself well with modern décor, while the ambiance was calm and relaxing.
We got the appetizers with mushroom soup and a Caesar salad. The salad came with little pile of Parmesan and white anchovy, all set in a ring of cheese crisp. For the mains, as meat eaters, we chose the grilled Australian sirloin steak, Black Sea cod fish, and the wagyu sirloin steak.
That was something to remember for us, the meat was so tender and juicy, and cooked just perfectly well. Especially, the Wagyu sirloin steak – it was honestly delicious and excellent, the luxurious beef was like it frolicked in the mouth.
The total bill for them and three drinks was 5.175.000d ($225 US). Though the cost was high for Hanoi though, it was quite reasonable considering what you would pay for such a treat in most World capitals. Our choice was right as we were all happy with the food and the nice view from 63rd floor, friendly and politely hospitality.
Usually, it’s true that restaurants in hotel or ones with great views have mediocre food, but the Grill 63 seems to be an exception to the rule. Exciting location and creative presentations are matched by the quality of the ingredients.
The venue was such a fantastic restaurant and a great place to impress your friends. After dinner, we made our way to the 65th floor for some glasses of Scotch whisky and enjoyed the top of Hanoi.
Overall, the restaurant is a great place to celebrate special occasion like birthdays or anniversary, but not too great just for a casual dinner with family.
